- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
- Optional: 1 tablespoon bacon bits
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup Penny Panko bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Instructions
- Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
- Jalapeño Prep: (Tip: Gloves make this way easier!) Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise, then scoop out the seeds and membranes with a small spoon to make space for the filling.
- Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, garlic powder, shredded cheddar cheese, chives, and bacon bits (if using!) until it’s all deliciously creamy.
- Add the Topping: In another small bowl, stir together the Penny Panko and melted butter until the crumbs are lightly coated.
- Stuff & Top: Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture, and sprinkle generously with the Penny Panko crumbs.
- Bake to Perfection: Arrange the poppers on your prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-22 minutes or until the tops are golden and bubbly.
- Serve & Enjoy: Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving, then watch them disappear!
