Summer is Here!

Summer is here in the South.

Pushing me to finish work early, get in a walk, and soak up the later sunsets.

The humidity brings back memories of summer trips to visit my Grandbetty in Rocky Mount. Upon our arrival, she'd have cold, sugary strawberries waiting in little green bowls for my sisters and me.  

When she passed, each sister got one of her little green bowl, and those fond memories.

Each newsletter I give shout outs to those who've helped Pennies along the way. This one is for Ellie O'Brien.

 Ellie grew up in Ireland and moved to the U.S. post-grad to work in hospitality. After our first meeting at Giddy Goat Coffee, I knew we needed Ellie on our team. Ellie helped Pennies grow thanks to her constant optimism, work ethic, and flexibility. We will miss her as she moves to Florida for her husband's new job (Congrats, Kevin!).

 We love you, Ellie, thanks for always Stayin' Cheesin!

Ann Michael is an undergraduate at UNC Chapel Hill studying  Business, Entrepreneurship & Conflict Management. Fav Penny Pairing? - Penny Panko as a salad topper! It's cheesy, crunchy and delicious! Fav place in NC? -  Ocean Isle Beach. I have been going on family vacation there every year since I was born, and it feels like a second home! What does being a Penny Pal mean to you? - It means being a part of a supportive and uplifting community that brings light to other people’s lives. I am excited to work with all Penny Pals and tap into the family system at Pennies!
