Friends, it feels like God said, “Let’s throw everything at Piedmont Pennies this week.” And when I say everything, I mean everything.
Â
First, happy news: THE OVEN FANS ARRIVED TWO WEEKS EARLY!!! They are here!!! (if you’ve ever dealt with equipment/construction lead times, you know how miraculous this is).
Â
On top of that, we PASSED our building and fire inspections—hallelujah! Only one more to go: mechanical. Hoping for that early next week, so Piedmont Natural Gas can turn the ovens on, and we can get COOKIN!Â
Â
As if that weren’t enough excitement, Piedmont Pennies turned FIVE this week. FIVE YEARS OLD! Five years of cheesy, crunchy goodness, and five years of learning more about running a business than I ever thought I could hold in one brain...
And because life is equal parts comedy and chaos, I also have a minor medical procecure scheduled for Friday. (I’ll take all the prayers, please and thank you!)
Â
When I zoom out from this year, I see roughly six months of permits, contractors, fees, approvals, delays, and—finally—progress. It’s been a marathon, and yet, all the finish lines seem to have landed on the same week.
But here’s the truth: through the delays, I've learned more about myself, my faith, and my PEOPLE that have pulled me through. The cheerleaders, the helpers, the friends who showed up with advice (or let me cry in Cava), a laugh, or just a listening ear. You know who you are. Consider this a giant computer hug coming your way.
Gratitude doesn’t begin to cover it. I'm closing my eyes and thanking God for YOU! We can do hard things together.Â
Â
More updates to come!!! Stay Cheesin!
Becca
P.S. I promise we will celebrate the big birthday once the ovens are working (I have the mental capacity to plan a birthday party).
