Get ready to snack in style with these crispy, golden fried pickle chips coated in our signature Penny Panko! Perfect as an appetizer for any get-together, these crunchy bites are easy to make, full of flavor, and taste amazing with a dip of homemade ranch. You can deep fry them for that maximum crunch, but for a healthier alternative, you can also oven-bake or use an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 2 cups ridge-cut pickle chips, drained
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 cups Penny Panko breadcrumbs
- 2 cups vegetable oil (if frying)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons thinly sliced chives
- Homemade ranch dressing, for dipping
Instructions
- Prep the Oil: Preheat the vegetable oil to 350°F in a large skillet or fryer.
- Dry the Pickles: Press pickle chips in a single layer between paper towels or clean kitchen towels to remove excess liquid.
- Set Up the Coating Station: Place flour, eggs, and Penny Panko in three separate shallow dishes.
- Dredge the Pickles: Coat each pickle chip in flour, shaking off any excess, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with Penny Panko until fully covered. Place each coated pickle chip onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 20 minutes (this helps the coating stick during frying).
- Fry the Pickles: Remove the pickle chips from the fridge and carefully fry in batches for 2-3 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels and season with salt and pepper while hot. Repeat until all pickle chips are fried.
- Garnish and Serve: Top with sliced chives and serve immediately with a side of homemade ranch dressing for dipping.
