Who passed gas (inspection)? WE DID! ⛽

WE ARE OFFICIALLY COOKING WITH GAS AND UP AND RUNNING AT THE PIEDMONT PENNIES KITCHEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 MONTHS LATER! PRAISE BE TO GOD! 

The best birthday present I could ask for! 😊

A lot of you have asked questions about this process, it's confusing, I know. I've learned countless lessons over the last 10 months, perhaps I will write a book one day when the sad emotions are less fresh...

For one, it is easy to dehumanize and blame the players in the construction process (the contractor didn't do X, the government permitting office is lazy, the subcontractors did a crappy job, blah blah blah), but, complaining gets you no where. 

Any time you make building changes, you have to submit permit plans to the county, get their approval (4 months, with back and forth changes), do the construction (months), then call for inspections (weeks, with back and forth changes based on the field inspector's comments - he has final say, not county), then call for a final inspection (and hope he doesn't have additional things he wants you to change that he forgot or didn't see the first time...).

But, we prevailed... as of today...

✅ Building Inspection

✅ Fire Inspection

✅ Electrical Inspection 

✅ Mechanical (Gas) Inspection

✅ Cooler Inspection 

⏸️ Plumbing Inspection (inspection should be today!)

 

We're rocking and rolling... Baking fresh Pennies and getting orders out ASAP!
