Easy Decaf Espresso Martini – A Coffee Cocktail Without the Caffeine

Decaf Espresso Martini ☕🍸

A decaf espresso martini is the perfect coffee cocktail when you want rich espresso flavor without the caffeine. Made with decaf espresso, vodka, and coffee liqueur, this smooth and frothy drink is ideal for after-dinner cocktails or late-night gatherings.

My parents are on the (decaf) espresso martini train... It's the night cap offered after a family meal at the Jordan's house. My mom's becoming a great bartender I will admit...

1 cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur (such as Kahlúa)
  • 1 oz freshly brewed decaf espresso or strong decaf coffee
  • ½ oz simple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
  • Ice
  • 3 coffee beans for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew a shot of decaf espresso or strong decaf coffee and allow it to cool slightly.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, decaf espresso, and simple syrup.
  4. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until the mixture is well chilled and foamy.
  5. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  6. Garnish with three coffee beans and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Shake the cocktail well to create the signature espresso martini foam on top.
  • Freshly brewed decaf espresso gives the best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust sweetness by increasing or reducing the simple syrup.

Optional Variations

  • Vanilla Decaf Espresso Martini: add ¼ oz vanilla syrup.
  • Creamy Espresso Martini: add ½ oz Irish cream liqueur.
  • Extra Coffee Flavor: use a double shot of decaf espresso.
